Sigberg Audio Announces SBS Generation 2
Redefining Compact Full-Range Active Loudspeaker Performance

Oslo, Norway – January, 2026: Sigberg Audio, the Norwegian high-end active speaker manufacturer, today announces the launch of the SBS Generation 2 loudspeaker system; The next evolution of its acclaimed SBS.1 active speaker system (originally launched in 2021). Designed for high dynamics, natural tonal balance, deep bass extension and effortless performance, the new SBS Gen 2 delivers floorstander-level sound from a compact, room-friendly form factor.

Available for pre-order now, expected to start shipping March 2026.

Built upon the original SBS.1’s strengths, the SBS Generation 2 features a series of significant refinements: a newly engineered mid-bass driver with laser-etched Fibonacci pattern and aluminium phase plug for reduced cone resonances, revised crossovers and tuning based on advancements from the flagship Sigberg Audio MANTA. Finally, a refreshed industrial design with cleaner edges, also inspired by Sigberg Audio’s larger flagship models. The system is available in two new satin finishes including a luxurious “Shady White” with contrasting grey grille, and a deep satin black called “Jet black”. Both versions have grilles that now reveal the logo even when fitted.

Performance and Technology

Sigberg Audio’s unique 4-way coaxial design and active crossover architecture ensure exceptional phase integrity and impulse response. The result is a coherent, expansive soundstage with pinpoint imaging, rich harmonic detail and effortless dynamics across genres. Intimate vocals through heavy metal and electronic music is reproduced without listener fatigue no matter how loud you play.

Key technical features:

4-way sealed active loudspeaker system powered by Hypex nCore class D amplification
Full range frequency response. 26–20,000 Hz ±2.5 dB, with typical in-room extension to 18 Hz.
Exceptionally low distortion (<1% THD @ 96 dB/1m) and a maximum capable sound pressure level of 114 dB at 1 m.
Interfaces include balanced XLR, RCA, optical, coaxial and AES digital inputs, with manual 9-band parametric EQ and factory presets for tailored room integration.

Compact Form, Full-Range Experience
Despite its compact footprint, the SBS Gen 2 delivers the visceral impact and low frequency capability typically associated with larger floorstanding systems. Sigberg Audio’s modular speaker system is designed from the ground up to be used together with one or several subwoofers. The system integrates seamlessly with Sigberg Audio Inkognito or 10D subwoofers without any setup, providing full-range performance that are unheard of from compact monitors.

Availability and Pricing
The SBS Generation 2 is available for preorder now with early bird pricing (15% discount). Delivery is scheduled for March 2026.

The modular SBS system start at 10 500 Euro / 12 000 USD with a single Inkognito subwoofer. Price includes worldwide shipping and personal, expert advice. Sigberg Audio handles the import process, no additional charges on delivery. Purchases come with a 60-day trial period, and a five-year warranty to ensure confident ownership.
